When is your insurance cover to commence?

You can take out the foreign health insurance at any time before the start of the trip – the first day of the trip is at the same time the date of commencement of the insurance.

Who is to be insured?

The term "family" applies to a maximum of two adults, and children up to the age of 21 with a place of residence in Germany, who live in the same household. Insurance cover is also provided for co-insured children who travel alone.

When do I select individual person?

Take out an individual policy if you often travel by yourself.

When do I select family?

Get the cheap family tariff if you are resident in Germany and

  • are a couple with a child or children (up to their 21st birthday) living in a single household
  • are an adult with a child or children (up to their 21st birthday) living in a single household
  • are a couple living in a single household

There is also insurance cover for co-insured children travelling alone.
